“Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” went on sale on Friday.  On Monday, a lawyer for Henry Holt shot down President Trump’s legal team libel claim writing, “it is patently ridiculous to claim that the privacy of the President of the United States has been violated by a book reporting on his campaign and his actions in office.”

President Trump’s attorney Charles J. Harder has sent a letter to Michael Wolff and the publisher of his forthcoming “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” Henry Holt and Co., to “immediately cease and desist from any further publication, release or dissemination of the book.” The book, set to be published January 9th, has already caused a media maelstrom over reported disparaging comments by Trump’s former political advisor Steven Bannon. Bannon also received a cease and desist letter: “You have breached the Agreement by, among other things, communicating with author Michael Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company, disclosing Confidential Information to Mr. Wolff, and making disparaging statements and in some cases outright defamatory statements to Mr. Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company.”
